So Brandon has something up at emusic now! He had a track before, but you had to purchase a variety of folks to get his. This time it’s his and his alone. And there’s a picture of him … an interview … fun stuff!
Yeah, I’m a proud mama. :-)
It’s part of the emusic selects stuff, and the album is Dark Energy.
**I wish I knew what was up with all the white space under this entry. It has something to do with how I put up pix from flickr, I know, but it doesn’t do this at oboeinsight. Weird.

PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT may be translated as “Quick! Delete me!” when it’s the subject of an email.
Just wanted to share. :-)

There is a big billboard on Bird Ave. in San Jose telling us that Chase is now in San Francisco.
Dear Chase: San Jose is not San Francisco. Move your billboard, please.
Actually, I could do with no billboards at all. That would be fine with me.
Meanwhile … it’s too hot!! I don’t like heat. It makes me grumpy, and it’s extremely difficult to play the oboe. I tried practicing, and did manage to get through my solo, but not comfortably. My poor students were clearly struggling. Not only that, but this house is horrendously messy and I need to get it cleaned up. It’s just not fun to dust and vacuum in hot weather. BUT … they say tomorrow is gonna be cooler, so this house is going to get a good going over. I hope.

Lord, Who createdst man in wealth and store,
Though foolishly he lost the same,
Decaying more and more,
Till he became
Most poore:
With Thee
O let me rise,
As larks, harmoniously,
And sing this day Thy victories:
Then shall the fall further the flight in me.
My tender age in sorrow did beginne;
And still with sicknesses and shame
Thou didst so punish sinne,
That I became
Most thinne.
With Thee
Let me combine,
And feel this day Thy victorie;
For, if I imp my wing on Thine,
Affliction shall advance the flight in me.

“I wrapped a movie called ‘Zombieland,’ in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character,” Harrelson said in a statement issued Friday by his publicist.
“With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie,” he said.
I’m not really into violence, and I’m not a big Harrelson fan, but considering how intrusive the paparazzi are, I fully understand getting ticked off and reacting.
I won’t post the video here; I don’t want to give these paparazzi any attention at all.

I can’t sleep because I’m worrying about taxes. How annoying is that?! (I’ve been awake since 4:30.) :-(

Giants won their first game! Now THAT is what we like to see … as long as they win more.
My back is still giving me trouble. Stupid back. My cough isn’t gone. Stupid cough. My reeds aren’t behaving. Stupid reeds.
;-)
Yeah. It’s that kinda day.
But I do have refried beans cooking, and I have an appetite. And as soon as I finish with my 5:30 student I’m going to enjoy dinner. (And if she doesn’t show up — I’m wondering, since I know she’s been out of town — I’ll still enjoy dinner.)
Tomorrow opera starts. Carmen. The opera the crowds love. Tomorrow I also see the Giants.
Good times.

I love Disneyland, and I really wish we could afford to go back there sometime soon. I would love to stay at the California hotel, too. But money … theres this money thing.
Not so, for some folks.
This story is about a couple that had a Disneyworld wedding.
She and Dan invited about 100 guests to spend three days at the resort, where they enjoyed a Christmas parade, a Mary Poppins breakfast ( with dancing chimney sweeps), a full day at the park and finally, the wedding.
The reception, which took place before the ceremony, featured a 27-piece symphony orchestra.
… AND a 27 piece “symphony orchestra”? (27 pieces doesn’t quite feel symphonic to me, but oh well).
I suggested to “my” Dan that the whole thing was a bit much.
He said I’m just jealous because we only had a woodwind quintet at our wedding. ;-)

Guess what begins next week? And guess who is gonna get to see a game that very same week? (Hint: it’s the older person you see in the picture.)
Woo hoo! Go Giants!
(I don’t know why the picture is so tiny. I guess there must be a place on Flickr where I can make them larger? Hmm.)
