Dear Top Chef People
Couldn’t you put the show on a bit earlier? It always makes me very hungry, and I shouldn’t eat that late at night.
I’m sure you understand.
Thank you.
Couldn’t you put the show on a bit earlier? It always makes me very hungry, and I shouldn’t eat that late at night.
I’m sure you understand.
Thank you.
I’m sure the drugs they found were merely from the show. Really. Because I like the guy. And if I like someone … well …
Oh never mind.
I like the guy he’s playing on the show. Guess that doesn’t mean anything about the actor, eh?
But what a stash.
Maybe this isn’t funny to anyone else. I landed here because of the word “opera” … it’s an “opera gown” for a toddler.
Um. Say what?
Maybe it’s a costume? But the beginning of the description was just too funny:
A gown that will embrace the natural form of any princess, while keeping in-step with the expectations of high society. Square neck adds a level of demure maturity.
Because we know that toddlers are frequently found in high society and are most definitely demurely mature.
Oh. And it’s only $94.95.
Okay. I’m done now.

It might be that other places still have better prices. This is just here in case you want to try it out.
NO PRESSURE! :-)
Dan directed my attention to a video of Annie Liebowitz taking pictures of the Queen of England. Fun to watch.
But I’m convinced Liebowitz couldn’t get a decent picture of yours truly. No one can. Pictures and I don’t get along. Go figure.
Of course I have to be in pictures for The Wedding. Yikes!
I know folks up here don’t live near Bloomingdale’s, but perhaps orders can even be placed online. I’ll ask the woman who sent me this:
Hello Mrs. Mitchell,Kelsey and Mel’s wedding is just around the corner and I wanted to see if I may be of any assistance to you or any of their wedding guests with gift purchases. They have not yest received any of the beautiful china they selected when you were all here at the brunch event.
I know you are in the Bay Area, but I can easily help facilitate gift purchase over the phone. Right now is the peak time for you and your guest to purchase wedding gifts, as I am able to extend my Friends and Family Discount (20%) to you. Friends and Family runs from May 1-4 and you will receive 20% off on all registry purchases and on purchases throughout the home store (10% in electrics). In addition, it permits you amazing savings throughout the rest of the store.
This is truly the best time for you to come in and purchase your registry items at an amazing price. An invitation with the savings pass is required for this event so please contact me at 714-824-4601 to reserve a pass for you or any guests you would like!
Warm regards,

If it’s true that we can get 20% off on Waterford, it’s less expensive there than anywhere else as far as I can see. Just so you know. If anyone is interested in this let me know and I’ll make sure I follow up on it!
Update
The woman will be getting back to me with info. She can’t give out passes, as they are hard copies only, but you can call and get the deal.
I addition, I found the china here for a good discount ($99.87, free shipping if order is over $100).
Just FYI because I like deals. I’m certainly not insisting you all buy her china! (But you COULD buy me some oboe reeds. ;-)
The Loyal Friend
Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who’s extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expects the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.
Hmmm. I wonder. It’s “Dr. Phil’s test” … and he’s not exactly my fave. But still … it was short. I like short.
Mel & Kelsey sent out their invitations, and yesterday we received our first two response cards. (Both were attending!)
In addition, I continue to check out their photographer’s blog (Katy Regnier). She’s fabulous, and I can’t wait to see pictures of Kelsey and Mel. (Of course I wonder if she can possibly make me look decent … but I guess it’s not about me, is it? Hmmm. I’ll ponder that for a while.)
Anyway, now I want to check the mailbox more frequently than I already did. And I checked it a LOT, even before the invitations went out!
So. Much. Fun.
I’m excited. :-)
The house is a mess. The yard? Forget about it.
I’ve been busy, but not so busy things should be this way. I’m just darn lazy. And maybe if I admit it here I’ll finally get my act together and figure out how to get the house clean and get the yard cleaned up. (I do think, though, a dumpster would be helpful!)
Of course I write this, knowing that tomorrow I go to UCSC and then get home to teach and then go play our opera final rehearsal. So I guess it’s the perfect time to say I need to do these things because I’m too busy. Wouldn’t ya know?
In other news
Kelsey & Mel get married in 67 days. Can you believe it? I get more excited every day. Really. ♥ ♥
When I call to ask a simple question, knowing I made a mistake and will owe you more money, and then get put on hold, must I really be forced to listen to Waltz of the Flowers from Nutcracker?
Really now. Insult to injury and all that jazz.
