I Wanna Sleep

So I was up at least four, and I think it was five, times last night. Pace, pace, pace.

I’m getting extremely tired of not sleeping. (So if I’m extremely tired why can’t I sleep?)

Ah well. The doctor has a prescription waiting for me so I’m going to pick that up and give it a go. It’s non-addictive stuff, so I don’t feel too bad about having to take it. I just hope it works, since the last prescription didn’t.

Opera today! Maybe work will help me sleep. I wonder.

I’ve Been Shot

… thrice!

Yep. Had to have shots. It was too late to give me any shot to protect me from the possible exposure to Hep A via Jamba Juice, but the doctor said I might as well start the Hep A vaccine process (only a series of two shots). I asked if perhaps Hep B would be a good idea as well (a series of three shots), since I work with kids and university students. He agreed. Then I actually told him I hadn’t had a tetanus shot since high school. So he added that, along with diptheria and pertussis to the list. (Yeah, I’m really smart this way; I hate shots so I ask for more? Hmmm.)

Wouldn’t you think, though, that they could just combine everything and give me one shot?

But nope. Had to have three different shots. Still, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I had worked it up to be. I didn’t even feel the Tdap shot, and the other two were really easy to take.

Maybe I’m just getting braver …? (Hah! That’ll be the day.)

I was told I’d be sore tonight, but so far I’m not feeling a thing. Not bad!

I do wonder, though, if I’ll feel like visiting Jamba Juice again. I think this has just left a bad taste in my mouth, even while knowing it’s not really their fault. Guess time will tell.

Crown Me … Sigh

Well, dental appointment done. Crown scheduled for next Tuesday.

May I cry a little? Sigh.

I’m not okay with the dentist. Not my dentist in particular. ANY dentist. Or should I say dental work? I just freak out. (Of course I hide that from the dentist, but I’m still freaking out inside.)

Joy, joy, joy.

Now I prepare for the Kaiser visit and, I’m guessing, a immune globulin shot. :-(

Jamba Juice

Guess who went to Jamba Juice during August? And guess which Jamba Juice she went to? Guess who is going to get to see her doctor tomorrow? And probably get a shot?

Guess who is really, really wimpy about shots?

Sigh.

You can read about it here.

To add insult to injury, I first have a dental appointment at 8:00 AM. In addition, I’m guessing I’m JUST FINE and don’t need a shot at all. But I probably can’t take that chance.

Can I?

Home

For those who worry (and even those who don’t): Dan is safely home and, at this moment , in his study checking email. I’m guessing this means we may not see him for a rather long time. (He didn’t have email access while in Seattle … can you imagine?!)

Your Day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

I hope you have a lovely day.

I love you.

Celebration

I slept through the night. Woo hoo!

A GOLF CART?

I would never have thought that a golf cart could cause serious injuries, nor would I have guessed CHP involvement.

LIVERMORE – Officials have determined a golf cart overloaded with six people crashed at a Livermore golf course Friday night after its 35-year-old driver aggressively applied the breaks, causing the vehicle to flip.

Three people had to be extricated from the overturned golf cart and one person suffered major injuries at Wente Vineyards Golf Course following the collision around 6:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.

The driver and five passengers in the golf cart were golf course employees.

Shows how much I know.

For Dan

Since Dan is a bit Norwegian, I thought I should share The top 10 Norwegian Souvenirs link. I’m nice that way.

Here is the list (each one is also a link to a picture):

  • Boxer shorts with pictures of moose making love are popular amongst tourists.
  • The Spanish and Italian tourists generally prefer Viking items, according to shop managers.
  • The Viking helmets come with or without hair.
  • Barbie dolls dressed in the Norwegian traditional costume, known as bunad.
  • Mugs are classic souvenirs.
  • Figurines are also popular, as long as they are cheaply priced, according to shop managers.
  • German tourists generally buy bumper stickers for the cars, a shop manager said.
  • Most of the souvenirs are imported, and many can also be found in Sweden and Denmark, according to a souvenir company manager.
  • Design institution Norsk Form complains that the souvenirs are too kitsch.
  • Tourists are especially keen on souvenirs with troll, moose and Viking motifs.

This was definitely News You Can Use. You may thank me now or later. Or both.

  • My Vacation!

So … here are a few pictures to prove that I did actually take a vacation this year!

First you will see a few pictures of our condo. The third is looking from our balcony. The first floor of these units are restaurants and stores.

Here are a few pictures from our Sunday drive. The first is Convict lake. The Star Trek movie Insurrection filmed scenes here.

And now … BODIE! Next time we need to go earlier so we can spend more time there without dealing with the noon sun.
