He’s Back

Dan is home, for anyone who needs that information. I thought I’d let those who worry know this! (I’m not a worrier about this sort of thing, for which I’m thankful!)

Oh DAAANNNN …

There’s this stuff I could buy to make me look younger. It’s sold at Sephora and is a mere $1,000. What say you? It includes 28 vials (to be kept frozen until use) that I apply to my skin. One of the ingredients is cow’s milk, and you KNOW how rare that is!

So anyway, I’m just thinking … do you want a younger me or what?!

Oh, and I’d need to buy this stuff twice a year. Okay?

PS It’s called RMX Maximum in case you want to buy it for my upcoming birthday.

Done!

Jameson’s room is painted. Hoorah! There are a few things that could be fixed up; I don’t do woodwork or ceilings so those jobs are for someone else. But at least the walls look great. I’d take a picture but the burglar took my camera and I’m not sure if I should take another one here without permission. And no, I’m not replacing my camera; we have some VERY good photographers in this family and I’m not one of them, and I also can’t afford the $300+ expense right now anyway. (Isn’t it great that, of all the cameras, my silly little thing was taken? I think so!) Maybe Jameson will take a picture later with his new (birthday) digital camera. We’ll see.

But anyway, it’s great to have the job done. I wish I had enough energy to do the hallway now. I would love a muted color there so Dan’s pictures would show better. I’d like to do the same with our bedroom so we could have more than just his black and whites in there, but I think that’s a room I’m not willing to do on my own. Maybe Dan and I can get to it someday when we’re actually home at the same time and I’m not working! Hmmm. Can’t think of when that would be, though.

Meanwhile, here I am, home alone again. Jameson is off at Tour Group (drama) “camp” (he does come home for the night, though) and goes back there tomorrow. Dan is on his mini-trek. It’s very quiet here.

Oh … except for my very noisy stomach! What’s up with that?!

Today is …

“Women’s Equality Day”.

I haven’t a clue what that means. Anyone?

Oh … maybe that’s why I woke up this morning and made Jameson’s school lunch. Dan usually does that. So I guess I was doing a “man’s job”. I did okay, once I convinced myself that I was capable. ;-)

(Dan is on a little mini-vacation, which is the real reason I made the lunch.)

Painting

Have I mentioned that I hate painting?

Well, now you know.

But it’s been way past due; Jameson’s room has been the multicolored young child colors for an embarrassingly long time. Being as he’s now 16, the bright red, yellow and blue walls, with “kiddie” wallpaper on the fourth wall, seemed a bit odd. It certainly didn’t fit his age or style! So today I bit the bullet. I put primer on the walls, and I’ll do the light moss green color tomorrow or Friday. After Jameson got home from school (yes, the first day of school was today) he helped me paint, which was quite nice and made things go a lot faster.

So I hate painting, but I’m finally getting one project done. We still have the hallway, our bedroom and Kelsey’s room to fix up. The fun never ends! :-)

Pretty Funny

Made me laugh, anyway.

Funny Thing About My Hair

I went for a haircut today. I didn’t want to say much to my hair stylist until she really took a look at me. Sure enough, she said, “Have you cut your hair!?”

I had wondered if she would ask that.

But the truth of it is that I haven’t. My hair just didn’t really grow over these past 6 weeks. Is that weird or what?! I usually go in every 5 weeks and by the time I’m there I’m nearly screaming, “Thin it out! Cut it! Cut it!”

But not today. Today I even wondered why I was bothering to go in and, after paying the horrendous amount she charges, I really wondered when leaving the salon. It seems that my hairdresser mainly just trimmed my hair a bit, put a lot of product in, and then messed it up. I mean that. For some reason these past two visits I’ve left the place looking like a mess because of what she’s done. I can’t quite figure it out. So I get home and I have to shower again to get the smell of whatever it was she used out of my hair (although I STILL smell it despite shampooing twice) and to blow dry it back to “neatness”.

Oh well. Lesson learned; if my hair doesn’t grow much for these next 5 weeks I’m going to cancel. I can use the money for something else, that’s for sure.

Oh dear, oh dear …

The sermon today … (not by a preacher, mind you) … suggested that we have to allow God to do things.

I’m really sorry, God, that I’m holding you back.

Oh the power!

Sigh.

Then we ended with “The Happy Song”. So I left. Because I wasn’t happy. And I really do try hard not to lie.
