Alaska Trip
In the summer of 2002 Dan, Kelsey and Jameson went to Alaska and biked with a bike club. They went over 1000 miles, beginning in Skagway (if I’m remembering correctly!) and ending up in Ancorage.
Brandon and I flew up to Ancorage a bit later in the month of July and met up with them at Denali National Park. Then, as they headed toward Ancorage we took a little trip to Fairbanks and toured around a bit. Alaska wasn’t exactly what I expected. It was huge, but everything is so spread out; it’s quite different than California. You can drive an entire day and feel as if you only went across one gigantic valley. What a beautiful place! I’m sure we’ll go back someday.

Here we all are! We took a bus tour to a spot where we were supposed to be able to see Denali, but the clouds decided to misbehave and hide the mountain. It didn’t matter to me … it was just great to have the whole family in one place, and the view was beautiful even without the majesty of Denalit to fill the lens. (This picture isn’t even taken in the direction of Denali, to be honest.)
